AP ENGLISH 12

Be prepared for a rigorous courseload that mirrors a basic college level course.  My expectations are high, and yours should be as well.  Please keep in mind that you are ultimately responsible for completing the work assigned.  Assignments must be turned in the day they are due.  If you email an assignment to me, make sure your assignment is sent as a Word attachment.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at any time.

ENGLISH 9

English 9 is a college prep course.  Be prepared to be challenged.  You will be successful only if you budget your time wisely and above all, pay attention!  Do your homework, come to class prepared, and be ready to learn!  You only have four years until the "real world" comes upon you!

WELCOME TO AP ENGLISH LIT AND ENGLISH 9!

Welcome to either AP English Literature and Composition or English 9!  For those of you who are entering your final year here at PHS, I wish you a successful and fulfilling year.  For those of you who are just beginning your tenure here - welcome!  My favorite part of being a member of the Pride is watching students learn, mature, and become successful adults during their four years here.  Please become familiar with this website.  Assignments are posted here daily.  Information that is vital to class may be posted here as well.

MAKE UP WORK POLICY REMINDER

If you are absent, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make up the work we did in class, AS WELL AS turn in any assignments I may have collected.  Your grade will drop if you do not do this.  Check the webpage, email me, ask me in class, but you must take that responsibility on yourself.

LATE WORK POLICY REMINDER

REMINDER:  An assignment can be turned in until 3:00pm the day it is due (it can be emailed before midnight).  If an assignment is turned in the following day, it is worth half-credit ONLY!!

GRADES

Grades are available online through the Aeries Portal. Should you have any questions regarding your/your child's grade, please email me at: ssmith@turlock.k12.ca.us.  NOTE:   Your child MUST turn in all work on time, ask for make up work, and keep him/herself on track in order to receive a high grade in the course.  Merely showing up does not guarantee an 'A' or a 'B'.
